Happy Birthday America!

What 4th of July is complete without a parade?

the kids couldn't wait for things to start...

a patriotic pony...

to honor the veterans and service members...

After a heavy rain at sunset, we were unsure if the fireworks would still happen.  Everyone was starting to drag around our house- exhausted from the weekend and ready for bed.  Neighbors to the rescue.  The neighborhood next to ours was setting off a rather impressive display that we could see from our porch.

As darkness settled it was time for sparklers...

Then we headed inside and watched the Macy's NYC fireworks on TV...

The kids really enjoyed the show and our impromptu patriotic sing-along...

followed by a fun game of glow stick tag...
