Back in May, some great deals came across LivingSocial for summer camps. We couldn't resist-summer camp fun, time with friends, new opportunities, free time for mom, and all at less than half price! Thanks LivingSocial! We decided to try two- one for each of the kids. Little did we know it would be during one of the hottest weeks of the summer and having fun inside could not come have come at a better time.
Carter headed off to Mad Science camp at a local university. In the mornings, he was at Inventionations learning about the works of Currie, Newton, Cousteau, Houdini, and Galileo. In the afternoons it was Spy Camp where they learned about codes, profiling, spy gear, evidence, fingerprinting and worked a "crime scene" to solve a mystery. Carter loved his professors and made some new friends...
While Carter was deep in science fun, Julia was at Fairytale Ballet Camp...
with her friends Allison, Claire, and Lily...
They had a wonderful time. For 3 hours a day, 35 little girls enjoyed crafts (making jewelry, crown, and flowers), snacks, and ballet. At the ends of the week they put on a performance. They all dressed as princesses and had their hair, makeup, and nails done.

It was a busy and fun-filled week of camps, friends, and fun. Friday evening we took the time to celebrate. Daddy has been promoted at work and is now overseeing the IT department in addition to his regular responsibilities. We are so proud of him and how hard he works for all of us. A yummy family dinner at Southern Roots was in order...
Their dances were well-choreographed and the girls learned echappes, tendus, arabesques, and more...
