Fun Friday

We had a fun Friday with friends. We went for a walk in the morning- my attempts to get some exercise these days. I had to suspend my gym membership because of Julia's health, so now my fitness regimen is pushing 70lbs of kids in a sit n stand. I must say I'm feeling the burn. Here's Allison and Julia racing up one of the hills at the end when we free them from the buckles. They were cute running so hard, but not making much progress. I can relate.

They anxiously look forward to the end when they get to throw rocks into the stream...
Then it was off to the park which fortunately wasn't crowded and the overcast skies made it perfect. It's the first time we've been at a park in over a month and the kids were giddy. Julia made up for lost time climbing like a monkey.
Then John came for his lunch break and led a rousing game of chase. The looks on their faces and their squeals of glee sum up their sheer ecstasy- so sweet.

The kids were so happy to have Daddy home. We headed outside for some fun...
Followed by pizza at our favorite place. One of only a few places where our kids down some serious food.
They can actually eat more than we do...
It really was a great Friday.

And now Julia is starting to show some more affects from the chemo. She is having jaw pain and joint pain- just like they said she would on the exact day they said she would. She's handling it all really well. She's been grinding her teeth to deal with the pain and we're giving her tylenol to try and help. The joint pain only bothers her at times and she asks to be carried. It's hard to see her suffer from this, especially knowing its just the beginning. In some ways it seems we've been in this for so long and then I remember we still have 20 weeks to go. She sets an amazing example for us living moment to moment and making the best of every opportunity. Please pray for her comfort and health.
