Labor Day Weekend

Julia's labs came back Thursday pretty similar to the previous week's. A few things up and a few others down, but mostly the same, so we are free to travel. Yipee! We are always excited to get the chance to go somewhere.  There are only a few places we can go these days and the change of scenery is good for all of us.

We are heading east for my nephew's 2nd birthday. He just happens to be the world's coolest two year old...
It's really fun to get them together now as they are getting older and enjoying playing together.  They were the three musketeers all weekend.

Friday morning the kids were outside bright and early enjoying the weather.  Hike!

Julia makes a great kicker and loves to play football, too...

Though she clears the way when the tackling starts...

Then it was on to party preparations.  Anderson's favorite character is Clifford the Big Red Dog.  The boys had fun filling the pinata.  I think they tasted everything they put in :)
The kitchen was a busy bakery all day as Aunt Beth made dozens of dog bone cookies...

...and an incredible Clifford birthday cake.  WOW! And it tasted delicious, too!

Saturday morning the moon bounce arrived at 8:30am and the kids were bouncing before breakfast.  They happily jumped, slid, and played until lunch.  It was great to have time for Julia to play because she wasn't able to attend the actual party with all the other kids.

Before she went inside, she gave Anderson the presents she picked out herself- a Mickey and friends chair and a Mickey Mouse that tells jokes, sings, and does the 'hot dog dance'.  It is so cute to watch the three of them do their little dance...

She's been feeling pretty good this weekend.  Still has the same feeding issues and tires easily which leads to lots of whining.  We tried to get her to chill out as much as possible...

After the party was over they headed out to enjoy Anderson's new sandbox and played until dark.  A quick bath and they were all off to dreamland.  It was a fun and busy day!

The next morning they were all excited to try Anderson's new easel and did a great job sharing it.  And thankfully the paint ended up on the paper, well most of it...

It was a refreshing and relaxing weekend for all of us.  The weather was great and we spent lots of time with family and good friends.  On the way home we stopped in to see Emmy, Gray, and Ally.  I was a nanny for these three for almost 6 years when they were babies, toddlers, and preschoolers.  Oh how time flies and now they are all grown up.  It's still so hard to believe!  Carter and Julia love to play with them every chance they get.  Thanks for all the fun guys! We miss you already!!
