Wednesday Morning Update

We are at the hospital this morning.  Julia still has a fever.  She did sleep through the night.  She was not pleased about coming this morning.  Putting on her emla cream seems to set off all her emotions about this whole thing at once.  She screamed and cried for quite awhile.  They have her in a quarantine room here and have drawn her labs and cultures.  She was not happy about accessing her port and screamed to go home.  She has settled back down and now we wait.

If she comes back neutropenic we will be admitted.  If not, she will receive rocephin and be reevaluated in the morning.  She is still not showing any signs of illness, so the detective work continues until we find a satisfying answer.

I know this is hard, on all of you. The unknown fever always seemed to be the most draining. It always seems easier to fight the known, for us emotionally and for the doctors. I will be praying.
